2	My personal opinion, for what it's worth, is this. Dylan is the joker and John Lennon is the thief. I believe this song is an artistic interpretation and extension of a conversation between Dylan and Lennon. They're speaking of being caught up in the hype and emptyness of superstardom and adulation.
